Meet Heather Heisey

Heather Heisey, DVM

Dr. Heather Heisey grew up in New Mexico. After attending New Mexico State University, she graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Veterinary Science followed by a DVM in 1993. She practiced small animal medicine in Kentucky and in the Lancaster and Middletown areas for several years before serving with Christian Veterinary Mission in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 2008-2013. Her work there involved establishing a Distance Learning Master’s Degree Program for Mongolian veterinarians to offer practical training in veterinary medicine. She continues to work online with students in Mongolia and has had the opportunity to return for short-term volunteer work over the last couple of years. After returning to the US, Dr. Heisey worked as an Adjunct Instructor in the Veterinary Technician program at YTI Career Institute in York, PA and also worked in a small animal practice in Middletown, PA. Dr. Heisey joined the Centre Animal Hospital team in May 2021.

Dr. Heisey enjoys many aspects of small animal practice including general medicine and surgery. She appreciates the opportunity to work with pet owners to provide preventative care as well as treating sick or injured pets.

Dr. Heisey lives with an adorable pug mix and an equally adorable Chihuahua mix. She enjoys trout fishing, gardening, art, and spending time with her three young adult children and their spouses.
