Dr. Porter was born and raised in State College and always wanted to be a vet. At age eight, she cared for her first injured rabbit and never looked back! After attending Penn State University, she went on to North Carolina State University, where she earned a BS in Animal Science and her DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. Porter joined Centre Animal Hospital when she returned home to State College in April of 2008. Dr. Porter has expertise in abdominal and cardiac ultrasound as well as cytology and pathology. Her clinical interests include both canine and feline internal medicine and surgery, pocket pets (guinea pigs, gerbils, and hamsters), and rabbits.
Dr. Porter lives with her husband and four daughters in Centre Hall. They have a houseful of pets: four cats, a German shorthaired pointer, three Leopard Geckos, and some tropical fish. Dr. Porter enjoys spending time in the outdoors and likes to hike, camp, kayak, and garden with her family.
